Arcadia Elks Lodge 2025 is June’s Business Icon. Scott Hettrick, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, and Karen Hou, president of the Arcadia Historical Society, presented the award to Exalted Ruler Robert DiGioia.
This plaque is located on the Elks Clubhouse. It was installed there in 2008. The Elks Clubhouse stands on the site of the 1918 Ross Field Clubhouse — the social and recreational center for servicemen at the U.S. Army Balloon School, dedicated on Aug. 31, 1918. Ninety-seven years later, the site still serves social and recreational activities.
History lives and thrives here: a unique and precious historic piece of property in Arcadia. The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting event at the clubhouse June 23 — celebrating the lodge’s long history in the community and nearly 20 years as a Chamber member — with members of the Society in attendance.
