Murder at the Baldwin Ranch
Arcadia Historical Society Presents
“Murder At The Baldwin Ranch”
Mystery Dinner
Friday, March 26th at 6 PM on ZOOM
A man has been found shot to death near the home of Mr. E. J. Baldwin, Mayor of the City of Arcadia. Apparently the victim had been present at a raucous Independence Day party hosted by Baldwin’s socialite daughter Clara Baldwin Stocker. It was so loud that residents in nearby Monrovia were shaken from their beds.
Little is known about the unfortunate victim, who has been identified as a Mr. Wilbur D. Hornsby. Mr. Hornsby was employed at Baldwin’s Rancho Santa Anita as an assistant winemaker.
Police Chief Anderson needs your help in solving this heinous crime. The Chief plans to interview several party goers and all possible suspects in a live broadcast via Zoom on Friday, March 26th. Those scheduled to be interrogated include Mrs. Clara Baldwin Stocker and her husband Harold Stocker. We will broadcast a live interview with old “Lucky” Baldwin himself.

We are pleased to present another in our series of mystery dinners. Given the current environment, this year’s offering will be quite different from what we have done in the past. “Murder at the Baldwin Ranch” recounts the events of a fictitious homicide during a wild party at the Queen Anne Cottage. The mystery dinner will be hosted online via a virtual meeting at Zoom.com. It will feature Lucky Baldwin along with a cast of characters you won’t soon forget.
