The strange and wonderful story of Arcadia’s “Prince Erik” is the featured topic at the Historical Society’s upcoming annual membership meeting.
“Prince Erik and His Arcadia Legacy” will be presented by the Rev. Dr. Jolene Cadenbach at — where else? — the Prince Erik Hall in Arcadia.
The Sunday, April 29, event begins at 6 p.m. and costs $15. Admission includes a traditional Mexican dinner and beverages.
Cadenbach’s talk will focus on the Danish prince’s life story and his importance to the young city of Arcadia. Cadenbach is pastor of the Arcadia Congregational Church, UCC, and a board member of the Arcadia Historical Society.
His Highness Prince Erik, Count of Rosenborg, renounced his rights to the throne when he chose to take a “commoner” as his wife in 1924. He moved to the fledgling city of Arcadia in the United States.
The Prince Erik presentation and the Arcadia Historical Society meeting are open to all.
