Santa Anita Park founder Dr. Charles Strub and Arcadia city father Elias J. Baldwin were inductees as “Pillars of the Turf” at the National Museum of Racing’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Strub was hailed as one of “the masterminds” behind the state-of-the-art Santa Anita Park, which opened in 1934. Baldwin was remembered as “a California pioneer as an owner, breeder and track developer.”
Below is an 8-minute video of the Aug. 3 induction focusing on Strub and Baldwin.
The event was in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
