The Arcadia Historical Society created some unforgettable moments in time last night at Peppers Mexican Restaurant in honoring Julie and Jacqueline Harris’ grandfather and father, Tony Antista, composer of the Arcadia High School Fight song and “Beautiful Beautiful Santa Anita.” Arcadia Mayor Gary Kovicic presented both mother and daughter with a city proclamation declaring Thursday, October 27, 2011 “Tony Antista Day.”

The Arcadia High School Pep Band, some 30 strong, made a surprise appearance and to thunderous applause and played a few renditions of the school’s fight song to everyone’s delight.
A magical evening in time, not soon to be forgotten, especially by Julie, her mom, and attending family members.
